Case Study Radisson Hotel Group Heathrow Airport September 2020
The Radisson Hotel Group recently undertook a major refurbishment programme throughout the 1000 bedroom hotel as part of their up-scaling and re-branding programme. To comply with the strict corporate standards of their flagship Radisson Red brand, the building services and energy efficiency was further enhanced as well as the swish new internals.
NDA Consulting were appointed to survey the existing installation and to make recommendations for improving the hotel’s energy efficiency using the latest controls technology.
As part of the refurbishment programme, NDA Consulting designed and technically oversaw the installation of the guest bedrooms, conference and public areas. To further protect the investment and to ensure continuity of savings, NDA worked with the hotel’s maintenance team to develop the BeMS maintenance standards that is planned to be rolled out throughout the group’s European hotels.
As budgets allow, it is planned to upgrade the hotel’s BMS operating platform and to migrate many of the existing plantrooms to the latest standards. The work will be undertaken in phases over the coming years and will involve:
The site CHP plant and waste heat recovery distribution system.
The health club – with pool water, air conditioning and DHWS requirements.
Site-wide reclaim of waste heat from the CHP plant.
Refurbishment of banqueting and conference suite.
Upgrading of bedroom AHUs and DHWS plantroom control panels.
The success of the project delivery, resulting energy cost savings and enhanced user comfort has resulted in NDA Consulting being asked to work with other hotels throughout the Radisson Group. We look forward to a long and beneficial relationship with this prestige brand.
